Google Play Services To Block Rooted Android Devices

Google Play Services is a component that provides core or important functionality like authentication to your Google services, synchronized contacts, access to all the latest user privacy settings, and higher quality, lower-powered location based services. Google Play services also enhances your app experience.

The new coming from Google Play Services is that they are ready to blovk rooted phones. Every one is now said because not a rooted phone can access full permission. Recently, Netflix disabled rooted phones from accessing their app but to talk of streaming contents in Netflix.

The latest Android version of Google Services has now come with full features which requires no root on your Android Phone. However, the latest news which seems bad is that Google has updated their Google Play Console, as updated during Google IO 2017, includes a a feature called "Safety Net toggle" which allows developers to add some features to their apps.

Safety Net Attestation checks for the following Device Status markers:

  1. Certified, genuine device that passes CTS
  2. Certified device with unlocked bootloader
  3. Genuine but un-certified device, such as when the manufacturer doesn’t apply for certification
  4. Device with custom ROM (not rooted)
  5. Emulator
  6. No device (protocol emulator script)
  7. Signs of system integrity compromise, such as rooting
  8. Signs of other active attacks, such as API hooking
Now I will implore you to go and unroot your device as quick as possible, because a rooted phone cant access latest updates google service. You can also install custom rom on your phone is you are unable to unroot it.
